Jeranto
After Nerano, you meet olive-groves. Between Villa Rosa and Jeranto there are heaps of rocks with fossil Gasteropoda (Helicidi). There are few shrubs (generally Junipers together with the grey leafed vegetation .The Mediterranean flora is replaced by the Garida (peculiar of dry places).
At Jeranto it is possible to watch the peregrine falcon and the Royal sea-gull (surely in this area four couples of falcon live). On Jeranto gulf there was certainly a sanctuary of Greek age devoted to the mar maids. We can't establish the exact point where it was because of the lack of emerging ruins. Probably the temple was built with local calcareous stones. Perhaps later on they were used to build the Saracen tower at Montalto.
From Tasso square SITA buses leave to the square of Nerano. Jeranto is an itinerary of exclusively panoramic and natural interest. The way of Jeranto is not easy. In the summer it is advisable to go to nerano in the twilight.
