Regina Giovanna
The road among via Capodimonte via Pantano and the Promontory of the Cape is steep and it passes from a cultivated ground to a rocky and dry one. On the promontory there is a very dry area with Euphorbiae , brooms , brambles and a low vegetation typical of the areas near the sea. On the rock defining the basin of Regina Giovanna you can note the ruins of a roman villa probably of Augustan age. The villa was divided in domus and villa. only a group of walls are remained of the domus which was on the top of the promontory. The villa on the sea, which was on the other side of the promontory ,separates from the hinterland by the natural basin, formed only building made up of the house, terraces ,landing places , cisterns. Of it there are ruins sufficient to let us conjectur about its structure. The itinerary has a natural , historical and archeological interest. The way to isn't difficult. It's available to go there in spring and in autumn. The Circumvesuviana buses take to Sorrento Cape from witch you can shortly Regina Giovanna next to the bathing establishments and the "solare".
